Valsoft Corporation is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel that will be reporting into the VP of Legal!

About the team:
You will be working with a dynamic team of professionals that are driven and results oriented!
What your day will look like:
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology contracts with public and private sector customers
- Assist with managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio
- Give accurate, balanced, and timely counsel to internal clients on a variety of legal topics
- Direct and manage outside counsel, as necessary
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of commercial contract terms and clause libraries
- Work on different legal projects, including but not limited to, new policies, templates and procedures, and other corporate legal regulatory matters
- Assist the legal M&A team with acquisitions, integrations of acquired businesses
About You:
- Legal degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in a province of Canada
- Fluent in English and French, verbally and written
- Direct experience in the software industry with technology companies
- At least 3 years of experience in the practice of law, general commercial legal experience in-house or at a law firm with a global organization
- Proven track record in complex contractual work (including a clear understanding of contractual liability and indemnification principles) with demonstrated drafting and negotiation skills
- The ability to be recognized as an independent and respected legal advisor, and ability to work in a complex structure
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a significant workload
- Excellent communication, organizational skills and ability to develop a broad skill set will be key to your success
