Compensation Information: $20-$23 per hour, depending on experience.

The Role
We’re looking for a Summer Law Student to join our busy in-house legal team, to have a special focus on contracts and commercial law matters. Acting under the direction and supervision of the Director, Legal Affairs and other senior members of the team, you will, as needed:
  • Review a wide variety of commercial agreements (including business to business contracts, NDAs, sponsorship agreements, etc.)
  • Identify and communicate key contractual terms and risks to internal stakeholders (e.g., business- services and marketing teams)
  • Contribute to other legal or operational projects (e.g., legal research or projects relating to privacy, CASL; reviewing marketing copy, etc.)

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Completed at least second year of law school in Ontario (or in a law school which follows the Ontario legal curriculum)
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a remote team environment
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
 Asset Experience
  • Previous business work experience/career in a company 
  • Previous experience reviewing and/or drafting contracts
  • An interest in commercial law and telecommunications
