Summary

Clinique juridique Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry) is a legal clinic located in the City of Cornwall, Ontario and seeks a lawyer interested in challenging and meaningful work. The successful candidate will provide summary advice and representation to individuals who qualify financially, as well as participate in public legal education, law reform and community development initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide summary advice and representation, as well as participate in public legal education, law reform and community development initiatives.

Qualifications Include:
· Fluency in French and English is mandatory
· Experience or willingness to learn the following areas of law:

    - Housing (Residential Tenancies Act)

    - Social Security (OW/ODSP/CPP-D)

    - Worker’s compensation (WSIB) Employment

    - Human Rights

· Membership in good standing of the LSO

· Commitment to social justice issues and working within an Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression, client-centered, trauma-informed framework

· Commitment to the delivery of high quality legal services to disadvantaged individuals and groups

· Strong ability to handle multiple priorities in a high volume environment and a self-starter

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team

· Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to plan and conduct educational workshops.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00, depending on experience, plus payment of LSO fees, contributions to defined benefits pension plan and health plan.

Working Conditions: Hybrid permitted if employee has suitable home office

Compensation Details
Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00, depending on experience, plus payment of LSO fees, contributions to defined benefits pension plan and health plan.
