The Rogers Legal Department is currently looking to fill a full time Legal Counsel position based in Montreal. The Legal Counsel will join a strong, dynamic and collaborative team of legal professionals.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Managing Counsel, Litigation based in Toronto, you will work closely with other members of the Legal team, both in Montreal and in Toronto and interact with various business partners in the organisation. The Legal Counsel’s primary responsibilities will include
  • Managing Québec based litigation files including class actions, commercial, real estate, and customer matters
  • Drafting of legal proceedings and related documents
  • Providing support on litigation matters outside of Quebec, as needed
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to internal clients on Quebec laws and regulations based issues or questions
  • Conducting legal research, preparing research notes and legal opinions on specific topics
What do you bring?

  • You must be a member of the Barreau du Québec
  • You have at least 5 years of work experience in private practice and/or in-house, specifically in litigation
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills in both French and English (A good knowledge of French is necessary as this role requires regular communication in French with customers and/or team members in other provinces).
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and prioritize requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior analytical, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Excellent judgement, time management skills, and practical thinking
  • Ability to explain legal clauses in simple non-legal terms
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • Experience acquired in the telecommunications industry would be an asset
