Law Student (Part-Time, Remote)

Law Student (Part-Time, Remote)

Law Students - Naomi Sayers is seeking 1-2 law students to work with her law office on a part-time basis.

This arrangement, depending on the students' preference, may extend multiple terms. You do not have to be based in Ontario. I generally hire law students to work on a part-time basis virtually. Students work collaboratively on projects/files in a virtual environment.

This means that applicants must be COMFORTABLE and at minimum, proficient with Microsoft Suite programs (generally, these programs are self-explanatory; so, if you are unsure whether you meet this requirement, a "self-starter" or "problem-solver" approach may make you a good fit).

1-3Ls can apply.

If you are a 1L, you should outline your life (personal / professional) experience that includes your ability to work independently, take initiative and think about solutions (solutions-oriented).

📩 All applicants: Please email a CV / written answers to the following by September 9 @ 12pm EST to me@meetnaomi.com.

✅ How do you handle competing priorities?*

✅ How do you know how to seek out help versus solving a problem on your own?*

✅ What's your perspective on individuals charged with serious sexual offences that may include underaged complainants (i.e. children)? [If you are unable to answer this question and/or do not feel comfortable answering this question, I invite you to apply to a law firm you feel comfortable working with.]*

*Grammar/spelling is not of concern - the substance of your answers are important (bullet points may be used).

Please note that I value alternative experience to law or prior to law school. Experience like helping others (customer service rep, sex work, bartending, caregiver, etc) would be key to highlight.

Individuals who do not feel comfortable representing individuals with complex mental health problems coupled with difficult/challenging criminal issues/files should consider applying at a firm where they feel comfortable working.

My practice includes civil / criminal appeals, certain criminal trials, and appearing at administrative tribunals (consent and capacity board, etc).
