Overview
Under the supervision of the General Counsel - Americas, the Legal Assistant aids in enhancing the counsel’s effectiveness by focusing on anti-diversion strategies, developing case information, evidence, and settlement options, as well as providing administrative support to the legal department.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Communicates directly with external counsel as required to meet legal department needs
- Carries out online searches for unauthorized resellers across all marketplaces and platforms
- Conducts investigation into diversion and counterfeit activities
- Drafts, edits, transcribes, and lays out straightforward legal documents under the instructions of the attorneys in the legal department (diversion notices, correspondence, etc.)
- Maintains litigation case summaries through external counsel updates, trademark lists and outside counsel lists
- In general, shows much initiative in meeting the Legal Department’s administrative needs, with guidance from counsel when required
- Maintains and uploads onto template agreements developed and used by the Legal Department
- Handles various highly confidential matters (discretion required)
- Completes special projects
Skills & Abilities
- Candidates must have a degree from an accredited institution and a strong academic background
- Spanish an asset
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
