Meridia is proud to have partnered with MDW Law, a family law firm providing legal services throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, in their search for an Associate Family Lawyer to join their team of high-performing legal professionals. They are a team of passionate, dedicated, and experienced lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants who work together daily to ensure our clients receive the best possible solutions to their problems.

Who You Are
  • 3-7 years of legal practice experience
  • Experience in family law is an asset
  • Practical court experience is an asset
  • Membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia Bar (or the potential to become a member)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High degree of professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and clients
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Strong technical, legal, analytical, and drafting skills
  • Excellent advocacy, conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills
  • A growth mindset
  • Ability to communicate in English and French is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and moving forward files (with the possibility of supervision depending on the candidate)
  • Meeting with clients to perform tasks related to moving matters forward
  • Attending court
  • Review and preparation of legal documents.
