Fresh off of a Series A led by tier one investors, we are seeking ambitious professionals to join our high performing team. 

In this role, you will support the work of our general counsel and legal team, doing research, reviewing documents, and providing transactional support throughout the summer of 2024. This is the perfect role for a wicked-smart and motivated law student, who has entrepreneurial mindset, incredible attention to detail, and a passion what we are doing at Hiive!

Key Responsibilities & Challenges:
  • Conduct research on complex legal and business questions and prepare legal memos.
  • Review, analyze and summarize contracts.
  • Assist with corporate transactions, including managing closing activities. 
  • Support the organizational and administrative excellence of our legal and transaction execution teams.
  • Support in the drafting of legal reports, agreements and contracts.
  • Prepare draft policies and procedures for employee conduct, information security and other issues of importance to the company.

Requirements:
  • 1 or 2 completed years of a JD or LLB at a Canadian or US law school, with a strong transcript. After you submit your application please send a copy of your law school transcript to natasha@hiive.com.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to solve difficult problems. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, resourcefulness and speed of execution.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills. 
  • Ability to communicate priorities and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders, and build constructive high-trust relationships across teams and functions.
  • A track record of sound judgement and composure in fast paced environments.

Nice to have: 
  • Prior work experience in a law firm, tech start-up, high growth company, or private equity or venture capital fund.
  • Undergraduate degree in commerce, economics, or a related field.

  • Weekly salary of $1,000 to $1,500 depending on experience and seniority.
