A DAY IN THE LIFE

On a day-to-day basis, the Legal Counsel (Corporate/Commercial) will:
- Facilitate legal matters arising primarily on sales, direct-to-consumer (retail & eCommerce), retail leasing and regulatory for sales in over 90 countries.
- Support and connect global office networks in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Shanghai, London and Belgium.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, while managing legal matters related to complex existing relationships.
- Work closely with the Retail Team to negotiate commercial leases on the continued expansion of a global retail footprint.
- Advise internal business units on day-to-day domestic and international matters.
- Collaborate with the internal legal team while managing a network of first-class global external counsel and other non-legal vendors.
- Design legal operations process.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-6+ years of legal experience in a top-tier firm or organization.
- Qualified to practice law in Canada with a J.D. or LL.B.
- Proven ability to lead initiatives autonomously and deliver advice in practical, commercial and solution-oriented terms.
- Working experience in corporate, commercial, M&A or real estate.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills accompanied by a high EQ.
- Drive and willingness to take ownership of legal tasks as well as additional non-legal business duties as needed.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO:
- Have demonstrable experience in corporate/commercial law and real estate.
- Have experience working in an in-house legal environment.
- Have experience and an interest in the fashion, retail or consumer products industries.
- Show a track record of flourishing in high-growth/dynamic environments.
