Associate Lawyer



Our small law firm, located in downtown Vancouver, is seeking an associate with 1 to 4 years of call. We represent the Ministry of Children and Family Development in its essential role of protecting children and improving the lives of families.

Responsibilities: 
  • Frequent court appearances at child protection remand list days, court settlement conferences, and hearings
  • Management of all aspects of court involved files, including preparation of witnesses, trial books and legal submissions
  • Regular participation in collaborative meetings and mediations
  • Provide summary legal advice and information
  • Review and vetting of Ministry files to disclose to opposing counsel

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Persuasive oral advocacy skills 
  • Professional attitude and strong personal ethics 
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information 
  • Enjoy working as part of our team as well as independently 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail Child protection, family law or criminal law experience is desirable
